In 1997, Matthew Barnett and the Dream Center joined forces with David Hanley to develop a new and exciting vision for music. This vision was to change lives with a positive and relevant voice. Press Play was established from the local community and across the nation, brought together by a common passion to see lives transformed.
In 2001, with the partnering of Angelus Temple and the Dream Center, Press Play began playing weekly in the historic 3,200-seat auditorium. David Hanley had the privilege of aiding in the design of the Temple with line-array speakers, 52-foot panoramic screen, LED stage panels, and a sound system to facilitate the band's huge sound.
A groundbreaking partnership began in 2007 between Foursquare International and the Dream Center paving the way for the launch of Dream Records. The vision of this label is to distribute a positive message worldwide through existing media outlets. Dream Record’s first release will be Press Play’s “Life is Beautiful” available MAY 19, 2009!

This is what 2500 kids look like....

This guy is such a beast! He was our guest speaker on thursday and his name is Geronimo Aguilar. This is part of what he's doing! The Richmond Outreach Center opened April 7, 2001. The Founder of The ROC is Pastor Geronimo Aguilar. Pastor Geronimo, his wife Samantha, and a ministry team of 19, left Southern California and planted in Richmond, Virginia.

Pastor Geronimo (Pastor G.) and his team were involved in outreach ministry for years in California. After a year and a half in Richmond, they saw the opportunity and need for a place like The ROC. So after much prayer, God gave Pastor G. the vision for the Richmond Outreach Center.

Realizing that Richmond already had several great churches in the city, God gave Pastor G. the vision to start a center where churches hungry to reach out to the hurting could come together, bring their time and resources, and make a difference in the inner city! Not only is The ROC a local church for hundreds and hundreds of people, The ROC is also an outreach center where the body of Christ can come together to help change lives, and make life changers!

Since the doors opened in 2001, the Lord has blessed The ROC tremendously. The ministry has gone from 19 people, to an average weekly attendance of over 4,000. The ROC is considered one of the fastest growing churches in America, and the growing keeps on going! The ROC has over 100 different ministries, including two private Christian schools, several discipleship homes, and the largest bus ministry in Virginia.

God has sent people from the north, south, east, and the west to work at The ROC. We have seen Christians from all over the country relocate to Richmond just to be part of what God is doing at The ROC!

The coolest thing was seeing his people in the front row. I thought they were celebrities from a reality show or something. His dad had tats on his face and they were all G'd out. It was such an amazing service!

I'm goign to try to find his testimony but here is a sample of it. His dad left him when he was 3 years old. When he was 11 I believe he saw someone come into his house and kill his mother. His grandfather took him him but never had a relationship with him. He was selling drugs and doing them by the time he was 15. He finally went to a church and got saved. Later he found out that the pastor of that church was his dad. His dad got saved in prison and became a minister. And now his whole family is saved! I'm going to try to get a video! Amazing testimony!

This is a new program my bro Jordan bought for me. Its got 3 supplements in it. Its Call Mass cycle and NX makes it. He got huuge from it.. So hopefully I will. It came with this 70 page book. I learned alot about gaining.

This was my favorite book I've read yet. It was all about how christians do alot of talking and we do alot inside of the churches from the pew. But they want us to shut up and DO something. It also talks about fasting. How when you fast your relying and trusting in God more than ever. If I would refer any book I've read to read.... This would be it! I loved it. Changed my life...

Phoenix Pastors school was amazing! The best 3 days of my life! Honestly. I got chosen to be the assistant of our traveling service leader. I start today and I'm so pumped to start! God has been so good to me in these past 4 months! I'm considering staying for a 2nd year. Or going to NY or Phoenix for my second year. We'll see!

Sex is important... I already knew this :) But it breaks it down so you really understand the power of sex. Back in the day when you had sex your were already married from that point on.

This guy talks alot about how God uses messy people. How none of us are perfect and how we all have our sin. Thats basically all it talks about. All of the disciples and the greatest bible figures live's were full of sin. Its not saying it is ok to sin. But it just points out that being holy is not about being sinless.

This guy Brother Lawrence is so crazy about God! Every moment he spends talking with Jesus. He says when he picks up a fry he is talking to God. There is a scripture that says pray without ceasing. And I think this is how you can accomplish that.

Erwin is so smart when it comes to philosophy. He talks alot about are deepest desires. And how we always want to become, acomplish, aspire, and grow.

Great book. Pushed me to become even better. A leader isnt one who knows something first. He's just the first to mouth it. Leaders arent always the best, smartest, or most talented. Just the ones who have the balls to stand out and say what others are thinking.

This book rocked me! Don Miller just talks about his life. He's so unreligious I loved it.

Back in LA

Well I'm back in LA guys! The weather here is perfect.. While I was home I had the best time ever! All the hard work in LA has truly paid off.. From messing around and ruining relationship to preaching to over 150 teens! Gods blessed my socks off and given me so much Grace its not even funny..

I'm going to make a few commitments for 2009.

1. Read 2 books a month.

2. Speak 2 times a month.

3. Not buy 1 article of clothing for myself.

4. Sponsor a (Fishers of Men) Child.

5. Go out of the country.

6. Eat out way less.

7. No immoral relationships/Stay PURE.

8. Read the whole new testament.

9. Never fail a scripture test.

10. Not say 1 cuss word.

11. Pay for Maters Commission. (6,000) dollars.

I'm sure there are some more.. But these are the commitments I'm going to follow through with! Let me know what you think! love you guys

Joy of Christmas

Holy crap this week has been busy! We've been doing a production called Joy of christmas. It started by passing out 1000 posters and like at least 30,000 fliers! Then I started to help build "hope square". It's in the back parking lot and we turn it into a winter wonderland for the kids. They walk through and see the real life toy soldiers and santa and elves. Then at the end they get their presents. The production is so nasty though! Its so wild and goofy and over the top. There are your normal christmas scenes but on roids! Then there are things like a drumming monkey, real life donkey, Sinbad, Elijah Kelly, and one of those ladies who hangs from fabric and does flips and all that... I wish everyone back home could experience it! Its probably the biggest thing I've ever been a part of!

This is the place I was at last weekend... I was with 3 or 4 people. All who know each other really well. I ended up going off and doing my own thing all night.. All I could think about was how worthless everything was when its just me! It was like I couldn't enjoy watching kids play, shopping, the trolly, the fountain, live christmas music.... All I really want and care about for christmas is to have all my family and friends! I cant wait to be home!

I miss home like crazy! Laitly I've been decorating the Millenium Biltmore Hotel with christmas decorations. I get paid 10 bucks an hour and it goes to my tuition. I did an alright job on my devotion. I was really nervous. But other than that most things are the same. Cant wait to be home on the 22nd!

I finished this book last night and it has changed the way i think of Jesus and the church! Very Very life changing! All I have been doing lately is reading.. Its all I want to do! I went to Mosaic and got to meet Erwin Mcmantis. All I want to do is get knowledge and become a world changer! Ive been growing sooo much. Now I'm just pursuing the heart of Jesus more than anything.. The more I try. The more confused on how to draw near to him.... Any suggestions?

I devoured this book last night! it took about 7 hours but I didnt want it to end... This book will change the way you think of God. Totally messed me up! "A person who is obsessed with Jesus is characterized by commited, settled, passionate love for God, above and before every other thing and every other being." Thats so good!

Life has been soooo good! from getting 2 packs of starbursts in the candy machine to skinny dipping with a bunch of guys in the ocean! This week I got to go camping with all of my brothers out here.. It was so relaxing to get out of town and into the mountains. I went on a 4 hour hike up the mountains... The view was so awesome! Swimming in the ocean with mountains all around you is such an awesome feeling! I so the little who I gave the dollar to a few weeks ago... he gave it in the offering yesterday.. T.D. Jakes is going to be at our church on Thursday. We are going to be in a new show on MTV! I cant tell anything about it. But you'll be able to see me! Other than that I'm learning so many good things. I miss everybody back home!

A day that wont be forgotten...

Alright so last night at 2 a.m. I have a 2nd year come in and woke me up, handed me a letter, and screamed hurry up you have 10 minutes! I didnt know what was goin on! lol so my room mates and I stagger out into the hallway and the leaders are pissed! guys on one side of the hall, girls on the other. Totally silent. Then Shawn (He's been here since MC started) talked to us. We got dog tags that said MCDQ Masters Commission Dont Quit! We formed perfect lines, he left the room, turned the lights off, and left us in there for 3 hours. Pitch Black! Totally Silent. Standing straight up. 2a.m. till 5a.m. Then we headed out into the bus parking lot. (by this time half the girls are crying) The guys and girls split up into 8 teams. 4 girls teams and 4 guys teams. The guys have to push a truck with 2 guys in it up this big hill 5 times! While we did that the girls had to lay on their backs with their feet in the air! So after that I puked... Some people cried. I felt super sick just cause I gave 110% doing it! After that we got a muffin and one of those paper cups for babies of orange juice. We then went to this big hill tied together. There was about 15 of us! A kid named Colin... About 6'6 300 pounds did it with us also.. We had to go down and up 9 times.. At about 2 times we had to start carrying him! it was aweful. My legs we're beat. Theeeeeeen we got normal lunch. Then went to that same hill, blindfolded, and had to go through a maze. There we're a ton of ropes up and down, criss crossing so you constantly had to hook and un hook the carabiner. Not to mention about 50 guys were on this same course. It was hell! It took 3 hours to get done with it. The secret was, was just to ask for help. ERRRR!!!!!! After that we changed and walked to Hollywood.... Ya and its 10 miles away! All day long we werent aloud to talk. AT ALL! Not a word. So the walk there sucked. But then we spread out over the whole strip and at the same time kneeled and prayed for Hollywood and our city! It was so intense. People were asking questions and praying with us and praying for us. There was like 130 of us doing it. Totally shut Hollywood down and stole everyones attention for like 6 or 7 minutes. Then we walked back. And when we got back we had to carry everyone up that huge hill I was talking about. I helped carry 4 people and carried 4 people by myself. Totally over worked myself today! But it was for God and I had a good attitude all day. I also have to clean the floor laundry room. And I got 3 bills that I dont know how to pay for.. But God is good! :) I worked my butt off for 18 hours today! Woo Hoo!

Yesterday was my day off and I worked this microsoft convention from 6am till 8pm.. lol God is humbling me like crazy! Today pray and and worship was soo good! One thing that was really on my heart is how good my parents are to me! and my brothers and sisters! We have all messed up so much and hurt my parent's hearts! Yet they would still die for us and still do anything for us! It blows my mind God loves us even more than that! One of my goals this year is to Love Jesus even more than that.. Even though I dont know how that is possible. Its one of my goals.. But ya... Thats whats up! :)

Man this week has been crazy! I dont know where to start and I know I'm gonna leave a bunch out.. Friday morning I was walking to the temple and this guy started talking to me. He started crying and asking if he could stay with me because he lost his job and his wife had kicked him out. So I brought him back to the Dream Center and he checked into Discipleship.. It was awesome to know I brought him here and I know its going to change his life. hmm what else. I have been looking for a good gym to do some MMA at.. I think I am goign to start breaking again. God is messing me up so much out here! everyday we have like... 10 hours of ministry. Every single day I meet with my mentor Tyree and he lets me know "in love" what I need to work on. Everytime we talk its like God smacking me in my face! lol I have crap that needs to come out that I didnt even know about! But its amazing knowing what i'll be next month and the month after that. One other awesome thing that happened just this morning.. This kid on my adopt a block site named Adrian was poking at me and I started to play with him and I was playing with his little sisters and what not. Today during worship he came and poked me on the back and wanted to stand next to me. It was so sweet. Everytime I would lift my hands he would. Everytime I would jump he would. Everytime I'd start my worship step he would too! lol I wish every leader would have some encounter like this.. It really shows how people watch you and how they look up to you. hmm... I found this thing called CHA CHA you text 242 242 and ask it any question and it will answer it for you. its great! and its free! I've been working this microsoft convention the past 3 days and tomorrow "my day off" I get to work it again! to make MC some money :) Jesus came to serve not to be served! lol I'm learning it! please leave me some more comments so I'll feel like people actually read this and I'll post more. :) Love you all verrrrry much! and I miss my momma!

So today I chose my top 5 tracks that I want to be involved in. We get to do 3 out of the 5 that we sign up for! They are 1. Missions. 2. Production. 3. Orphans. 4. Outreach. 5. Youth. For the missions I will be going to Napal, or Mexico I believe. Napal is over by Asia! For production I will be doing dance and Drama. Then the orphans one we go to family's houses that are about to lose their children due to poverty and we take care of all their needs. The outreach is like random acts of kindness and just spreading the word of Jesus anyway we can! Youth is doing different things for the youth department! I figured it would be office work thats why its my 5th... We do our tracks monday Wednesdays and fridaysThey also put me into my small group today.. Which I'm in Damions which will be awesome! We have them 1 till 3 every thursday. We have a surprise tonight and we're leaving from 6 till 10 tonight.. I'm excited! Love you all!

Holy crap have I been blindsided! My life has taken a 360 from where I was 2 weeks ago! Just to let everyone know I am at Masters Commission Los Angeles and it just started last friday. The devil did everything he could to keep me from coming. Now that I am here I'll try to keep everyone back home posted on what's going on with posts, videos, pictures, and whatever else I can. My schedule usually go's like this... breakfast 6:30-7:30 Monday's are off. Tuesday-friday we always have 1 hour of prayer, 30 minutes of worship, and a 20 minute devotional. Every Tuesday right after prayer we have to take our scripture test which I'll explain in a minute. Then we go to lunch 11:30-12:30. After lunch we have guest speakers Pastor Matthew, Brad, Kelly, and other pastors and people that have a big influence in the world. Tomorrow we will start our tracks which are the ministries we're going to be involved in. Media, Dance, Worship, Creative writing, spoken word, and a few more. We have small groups that will meet on thursdays for 2 hours. Thursday night, Saturday night, and Sunday morning we ride the buses, do offering, parking lot security, usher, and anything else they need us to do. Saturday we have prayer for adopt-a-block from 9:30 till 10:30 then we go out to our sites until 2. We come home and watch all the kids in the cafe, gym, patio, and everywhere else they are. Then sunday we're basically off for now besides church in the morning. Soon we will be traveling to other churches putting on services. The scripture memorization. We will memorize 200 scriptures while we are here. Thats 7 a week. We choose a topic like Fear. Then we will have 7 scriptures that have to do with the topic fear. We have to have 2 reference scriptures for each, a definition of the topic and a adjective with a definition. Who, When, why, and where it was written. 7 lines on how it applies to your life. And the with all 7 each week we have to write out a 1 page devotional with our next weeks scriptures and topic so they can approve them. Discipline! They dont play any games here with the rules. If you get in trouble for anything you have to be in the "backstage room" at 5 a.m. until 8 a.m. the following day and the next Monday we have off your also in there from 6a.m. until 12 p.m. You face the wall in silence and write whatever scriptures they tell you to write for hours and hours. You will get it if you are late signing into anything, talk 1 on 1 with opposite sex, 2 on 2. or even 3 on 3. Dirty Rooms, bed not made, off your floor past 11p.m. Questioning authority is a big deal. hmm.. Thats most of whats going on in my life right now.. We have to work out 2 hours a week so I'm getting back into Parkour. I'll be coming home December 22nd until Jan 5th. I'll take a few videos of my floor and of my friends.
